IS MODERN DAY ISRAEL OF GOD, or of men?

This is a very touchy subject to be sure, but we cannot back away from it.  The Bible is clear on this issue:

God Himself will resurrect Israel, He won’t rely on or need men to do it, and it’s even clearer that He is not going to “save” Israel for people that don’t believe in His only begotten Son!

A parable spoken by Jesus explains it well:

Mar 12:1  And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the wine vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

Mar 12:2  And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

Mar 12:3  And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

Mar 12:4  And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

Mar 12:5  And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

Mar 12:6  Having yet therefore one son, his well-beloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

Mar 12:7  But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

Mar 12:8  And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

Mar 12:9  What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

Mar 12:10  And have ye not read this Scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

Mar 12:11  This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?

Mar 12:12  And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

As a disciple of Christ we should be able to understand these parables, shouldn’t we?  This parable tells us that the Gospel was first taught to the Israelites and rejected; What did God do? He destroyed many of them, destroyed the Temple, and scattered them and gave the “vineyard” to others, to the gentiles, us!  And again:

Luk 13:34  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Luk 13:35  Behold, your house is left unto you desolate…

Does this mean God will forever abandon the Jews? No, it doesn’t, many scriptures point to the Jews being brought back into the Kingdom, but there is a condition and this is also given to the Jews by Jesus:

Mat 23:39  For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Or until they accept that He is the Messiah!

In our modern apostate Churches they are teaching something altogether different than what is in the Holy Bible.  They teach that God wants us to fight Israel’s battles for them, to yoke ourselves to unbelievers, and to facilitate the return of Jews from all over the world to modern day Israel.  As we see from the scriptures above that’s not the way God intended it, not to restore Israel to a nation of unbelievers!

On the other hand, we are not to force the Gospel on anyone either, we preach it to them, if they reject it we wipe the dust of our feet off as a testimony against them and go on to those who will receive it, amen?  And we certainly have no mandate whatsoever to use violence in preaching the Gospel!  God will set the time for all Israel to be saved and He will bring a heavenly Jerusalem down to the earth.

God will accomplish what He will, when He chooses to do so, when man interferes or tries to help God then we see nothing but works of the flesh, which is exactly what modern, apostate Israel is.
