From How Hard is it for the rich to enter into
Heaven to the Prosperity Movement
Riches
are a hindrance to salvation, not a sign of God’s blessing, as is commonly
taught in the “Church”. Jesus said it
Himself:
Luk 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest
thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
Luk 18:23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very
rich.
Luk 18:24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said,
How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
Luk 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the
We’ve
read many attempts to twist, distort, minimize or make of historical value only
Jesus’ Words, but the truth is He meant it, from 2000 years ago till the end of
time. He repeated it in several ways to
emphasize the importance to those who would be His disciples, and riches truly
will take your mind off of God and put it on mammon:
Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this
life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
“Church”
leaders have gone so far to the opposite of Jesus’ teaching that now if you are
poor God is
angry with you or you’re a“sinner”,
or you’re not giving enough to the local church, etc. In reality the
Prosperity
Movement embraced by so many of today’s “church” leaders is nothing more than a
pyramid scheme for “filthy luchre”! The apostate prosperity teachers get rich and
leave the deceived
to wonder why God is angry at them? Our response to this question is what our
Lord said to begin the
Sermon on
the Mount:
Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor
in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Our blessings,
while sometimes material or monetary, are for the most part spiritual! As in we are
storing up treasure in Heaven!
